Not Windows Hello, because recently discovered vulnerabilities have found a way to bypass this authentication process on popular Laptop models like Dell Inspiron 15, Lenovo ThinkPad T14, and Microsoft Surface Pro X. It’s like leaving your keys inside your house, locking the front door, but still able to get in. Why? Because your favorite neighborhood locksmith, ‘Flaw’, has done his trick again!
We are definitely not pointing fingers, but if we were, they would be squarely at Goodix’s sensors. The researchers at Blackwing Intelligence have attributed the cited weaknesses to the fingerprint scanners developed by Goodix. These guys should consider starting the new “Goodbye Privacy Club”. Inadvertently, they have created a feature that unlocks devices faster than you can say, “Oops”. The irony, however, is that the scanners, in this case, aren’t doing their elementary job: identifying who’s genuine and who’s the Joker!

These flaws, found by Blackwing Intelligence, reside in the fingerprint sensors from Goodix. These vulnerabilities show that no matter how strong your ‘front-door’ security appears, it’s always possible for a naughty neighbor to find a hidden spare key. Jokes apart, these findings reinforce the significance of continuous testing and updates in safeguarding our digital presence, lest our privacy turns into a punchline.
